The second molar has fractured between the roots.

The failing tooth has been removed.

The bone graft has been placed.

The implant has been placed with a healing cap.

Abutment

The healing cap was removed and the abutment was placed. The abutment goes from the

top of the implant through the soft tissue and into the oral cavity.

A screw maintins the connection between the implant and the abutment.

Crown

The final Zirconium crowns is cemented to the abutment.

Alveolar socket preservation (ASP) is a procedure in which a graft material is placed in the socket of the extracted tooth at the time of extraction, with the application of an barrier membrane. This is to  preserve or improve the original ridge dimensions and to allow for ideal implant location.
